Trend Forecast: What’s In for Spring 2024

Spring is commonly synonymous with renewal, vibrancy, and a free spirit. And with its yearly arrival comes a new wave of trends to revitalize our wardrobes. As we bid adieu to winter, it’s time to embrace the warmth of the new season by hanging up the dark hues and directional cuts (for now) and welcome a happy approach to dressing. 

From throwback influences to high-spirited prints, these are the top trends that are shaping the sartorial landscape this Spring 2024.  

A Nod to Nostalgia

We’re seeing a draw of inspiration from nostalgic influences this season. A slew of vintage silhouettes are making a resurgence—Victorian puff sleeves, ‘70s wide-leg silhouettes, ‘60s A-line dresses, and ‘80s polka dot prints—among others are making a comeback. Expect to see nods dating back to decades and ultimately a fusion of classic and contemporary elements.

Fresh and Energetic Hues

Spring is a chance to take a breather from moody colors and breathe life into your sartorial rotation with a vibrant palette. Earthy greens, cherry reds, chic corals, sunny yellows, and calming blues are among the key colors you’ll be seeing. Despite all this, neutrals are still, and will always be, a must in everyone’s closets. Update yours with warm browns and charcoal grays to go with your blacks & whites for good measure.

Florals Revamped

While florals will forever be a spring favorite, they’re being reinvented this time around. Expect to see bolder and more artful iterations of the beloved print, such as oversized, embroidered, hand-painted, and unexpected vampy versions that allow for a sophisticated and wearable ensemble even after sundown. Either way, this revival certainly makes florals groundbreaking for spring.

Shape was a big trend in this season’s runways. Going bold no longer just meant wearing striking colors and patterns, it’s volume that makes a massive impact. Think exaggerated proportions in all forms—billowy and free-flowing sleeves and skirting, oversized tops, and airy trousers that give you the freedom of movement while injecting much-needed drama—in contrast to previous seasons’ more streamlined aesthetic.

What’s a new season without a little experimentation? Spring 2024 is decidedly going in an expressive direction that allows us to have fun and play with our styles.
